    Alex grew up in Leominster, Massachusetts.  In 1981, she graduated with a degree in Food Science from the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst.   Over the years, she has worked in food product development, technical sales and general business management and marketing. 

 Alex moved to Colorado in 1991, during the campaign for the anti-GLBT initiative, Amendment 2. The passage of Amendment 2, along with the years of uncertainty, all the way to the Supreme Court changed many lives. It was this political environment that inspired Alex. This seemingly negative event was truly serendipitous for her, as it inspired her to make some life-altering decisions, like write her first novel, Façades .

    Façades was published by The Haworth Press, Alice Street Editions in 2000.  In recognition of Façades, Alex was presented the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Pen Award Her first novel was followed in short order with Back to Salem (2001), a mystery of psychic suspense featuring her protagonist Jessie Mercer.  Back to Salem is a Lambda Literary Award Finalist for Best Lesbian Mystery and an InsightOut Book Club selection. 

    Alex's most recent novelA MATTER OF DEGREESis a suspense thriller featuring Jessie Mercer, her protagonist from Back to Salem.   The novel is a Golden Crown Literary Award Finalist as well as a Gaylactic Spectrum Award Nominee.

    Alex's second book, Back to Salem, was selected by Atlantis Moon Productions to be produced into a short film.  The project is currently in post-production.  Alex was thrilled to write the screenplay and participate as a screen director in the filming.  She has also written the feature-length screenplay of Back to Salem, which has been submitted for feature-length movie consideration.

    Alex is currently working on an inspirational non-fiction book along with her fourth novel.

    Alex is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, and Lambda Literary Agency.  She is a former member of the Intuitive Task Force, a group of  professional intuitives that assisted in locating missing children.  She is also a member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment and a WayShower.  A WayShower is a graduate of  a psychic development program sponsored by the A.R.E., instructed and mentored by Carol Ann Liaros and Henry Reed.

    Alex currently conducts workshops to artists and writers on how to access their intuition to enhance their creativity.  She is a freelance writer and marketing consultant and presently resides in Colorado with her son and partner.
