Jessie Mercer has it all—fame, fortune, and a best-selling novel being made into a major motion picture starring the alluring Taylor Andrews. When disturbing, real-life events begin mimicking the movie's plot, Jessie and Taylor find themselves drawn into a cosmic web of passion, treachery, and deception that began centuries ago! As the terror mounts, Jessie realizes she is the target and must go back—all the way back to Salem, where answers to the mystery unfold—before the evil from the past destroys her!

Reviews

If you're looking for the unusual—something FRESH, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, AND MARVELOUSLY ENTERTAINING—then read this book.  Marcoux's writing is superb. . . . You won't be able to put the book down. . . . An entertaining novel with a lot of twists and turns.

Laura DeHart Young, Lambda Book Report

Page-turner of a mystery.  SPELLBINDING.  Perhaps the recall of a past life doesn't release someone from its influence.  Maybe it increases its impact.

Henry Reed, Venture Inward, Magazine of the A.R.E./The Edgar Cayce Foundation

Compelling stories about enduring women who triumph in a patriarchal society.

Can't put it down.

—Spiritsearch.com

Goes beyond a mere mystery.  You don't have to believe in reincarnation to enjoy this book.  The page-turning excitement will keep you reading into the wee hours of the morning.

Virginia GayZette

If you enjoy a good mystery, with many twists and turns in the plot, you'll enjoy Back to Salem.  It is a very good read!

—Mega-Scene

COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ... Get this book and make sure she can afford to keep writing.

The Liberty Press

Alex Marcoux has created A METAPHYSICAL MYSTERY THAT INFORMS, ENTERTAINS, and makes me want to go have a past-life regression. Her work is well crafted, interweaving past and present with flawless detail. You'll find yourself in Salem during the horrific witch hunts of the 1690s, as well as in the present-day cut-throat film industry. This GENDER-BENDING THRILLER is reminiscent of Kenneth Branagh's Dead Again, but with more highly developed characters. Marcoux is AN EXCEPTIONAL NEW TALENT that definitely should be read in this lifetime.

Paul J. Willis, Executive Director, Lambda Literary Foundation

More substantial than the typical lesbian romance, and Alex's ability to tell a good mystery was as good as any Sue Grafton book ... interesting twists and turns.

—Cheryl Chessick, AGLP Newsletter, Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists

Ready for a warm springtime romance with a healthy dose of lusty adventure thrown in? Then look no further than Alex Marcoux’s intriguing new mystery. . . . Marcoux’s work is the well-paced tale of two star-crossed souls, but this is no ordinary love story . . . . . Marcoux has written a tight story that will keep you enthralled . . . . Once you start this one, it’ll be hard to put it down.

—The Letter

(Alex is) a gifted young lesbian author.

—Patricia Nell Warren, author of The Wild Man and The Front Runner

ENGROSSING, IMAGINATIVE . . . a thought-provoking journey from contemporary Los Angeles to colonial New England as her two heroines-a novelist/screenwriter and a singer/songwriter-explore their connections, the sources of their creativity, karmic disruptions, and mysterious deaths. . . .Leading up to a NAIL-BITING, THOROUGHLY SATISFYING FINALE.

Suzanne Proulx, Author of Bad Blood, Bad Luck, and Bad Medicine

REFRESHING, FULL OF UNEXPECTED TWISTS . . . guaranteed to keep you guessing until the very end. Marcoux peers into the complexities of the human psyche, probing the hidden recesses of the mind, showing how our lives are interwoven in ways we may not be consciously aware of, and how love can last throughout the ages. FILLED WITH INTRIGUE AND SECRET PASSIONS.

Sherry L. Stinson, Editor, www.outlookpress.com

DEFINITELY A WINNER!  Alex Marcoux has outdone herself as she weaves a tale within a tale of cruel injustices done to two destined lovers.  The story is CAPTIVATING and the insight into the souls of the lost lovers tore at my heart.  Alex's knowledge and concept of reincarnation  is truly "inspired".  It has such an ease and flow, it makes me wonder if the tale is really fiction or is it true?  I, for one, would love to see more of these soul-mates.
