facilitated communication

« Back to Glossary Index

Facilitated communication is a supported typing method that helps some nonspeaking autistics communicate. Because many Autists do not fully physically embody, and part of them remains in higher dimensions, they are not always in control of their bodies, making simple typing difficult. The facilitated typing process stabilizes the autistic’s hand so they can type with more accuracy.
