Chakras: Vortexes of Energy in Your Spiritual Body
Chakras are energy centers located in the spiritual bodies of a person. These centers channel the universal life force energy in and out of the physical and spiritual selves. Some refer to the life force energy as Qi/Chi, consciousness, or even the soul. The chakras are considered both transmitters and receivers of energy, and at times, they are perceived as vortexes. When energy flows naturally through the chakras, there is momentum, and life responds with order. When chakras become blocked, individuals can feel stuck and may develop dis-ease. An individual achieves physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being when the chakras and meridians are in balance. The heart chakra is particularly important for spiritual development, as it enables people to think less with their minds and feel more with their hearts. When the heart chakra is open, individuals experience compassion, intuition, and a diminishment of ego. The third eye, also known as the brow chakra, is associated with clairvoyance and psychic vision abilities.
